Battle with the Bureaucrats

“After all, the chief business of the American people is business” is a quote from Calvin Coolidge in 1925. From 2016 to 2020 America had a president who was primarily a businessman. While many politicians would see the presidency as their ultimate achievement, there are plenty of politicians who will never attain that office, for various reasons. It seems that someone with only a business background and no political experience would have no chance of winning the office of the presidency. Yet, in 2016, we elected a president who had never held public office before.

When faced with a pandemic of enormous proportion, in nine months, the president via Operation Warp Speed motivated public officials and the private sector to concentrate their efforts and created two vaccines, in a speed that will go down in history. Not that the president will be remembered for that, though. In 2020 the American stock market roared back, to heights that exceeded Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom, while home sales and automobile sales swelled.

The businessman president split the Latino vote in Florida, and earned 40% of the Latino vote in Texas. In an historical move, the businessman president forged an agreement that normalized relations between Arab nations and Israel, an accomplishment preceded by 25 years of silent resentment. Business people understand that talk is not enough; results are what counts. President Barack Obama won the Noble Prize “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples” and President Obama did sign fifteen treaties, of which two were extradition treaties and four were fisheries treaties.

The lawless border between the U.S. and Mexico was calmed with 423 new miles of a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, an effort that was denounced in the press and resisted by numerous judges who feel they have a right to legislate from the bench, as well Congress, which fought the wall tooth and nail.

The USMCA trade deal with Canada and Mexico replaced the unfair NAFTA agreement that caused thousands of job to be relocated. China was put on notice that their industrial espionage, product dumping, and lack of trade reciprocity would have consequences.

The longest war in American history in Afghanistan was wound down with an historic peace deal with the Taliban. In 2019, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was removed via a successful strike, as was Iranian terrorist facilitator Qasem Soleimani in 2020. The elimination of these threats to America and the free world weren’t done with invasions and the loss of American soldiers, they were done with great precision and the application of technology.

Speaking of technology, this president established the sixth military branch, the Space Force, a segment of the military long overdue. Satellites and space weapons are the next frontier of war, with our adversaries already making strides in that direction.

The businessman president also called upon NATO to pay their fair shares notifying the members that NATO was a partnership and not an American sponsorship.

All the while, the legal institutions of America and the career Justice Department officials lied, offered false testimony, indicted, and did everything in their power to remove the president; and when they couldn’t legally assault the president they simply turned their attention to anyone associated with the president and found something for which to prosecute them.

The fact that our Justice Department was willing to ignore breaches of national security committed by influential political players and yet scrutinize every move made by people who were not favored, casts a very dark shadow upon our justice system. Watching officials who knew better lie to judges to obtain warrants and allow politically-inspired uncorroborated “evidence” to provoke investigations is truly frightening.

While the career politicians offer heartfelt explanations as to why they cannot accomplish things for the American worker, the businessman president who did more for the American worker than any president in recent memory will face impeachment when not even in office.

To watch those same officials walk away scot-free is deeply disturbing. There are basically three reasons for incarcerating people: to make them pay for what they did, to keep them from harming other people, and to set an example for others who may be considering the crime. Justice in America is very expensive, and only the very rich or the well-connected can afford it, or, in the recent cases, avoid it.

The career politicians are now attempting, for the first time in history, to impeach a president who is no longer in office. American politics is a very dirty game, filled with sore losers and career politicians who put themselves first, their rich benefactors second, and their constituents   a distant third.

While the career politicians offer heartfelt explanations as to why they cannot accomplish things for the American worker, the businessman president who did more for the American worker than any president in recent memory will face impeachment when not even in office.

President Biden, within days of his taking office, cutoff the Keystone pipeline project, angering Canada and throwing over three-thousand American workers out of a job.

Get ready, America, that is only the beginning.  The Democrats, supported by the media and certain billion-dollar multinationals whose focus is not on America, but on how much money they can accumulate, will gut every move made to support American workers and bring back poverty, all the while insisting that it is the right thing to do.

Our outgoing businessman president was not a politician, and didn’t have the savvy or personality that politicians possess, he was focused on results. He didn’t possess the demeanor of a politician, only the intentions of helping American workers, and in the end, that is not the character that a majority of American voters are seeking.

Winston Churchill said there are two things you do not want to watch being made, sausage and legislation.

To our former businessman president I offer what a history teacher told me a long time ago:

When you do it right, no one remembers, when you do it wrong, no one forgets.
